Jim Ross: Hello everyone, and welcome to NWO Thursday Night Overdrive.

Jerry Lawler: And you know what the big news for the NWO is, right JR?

Jim Ross: Yeah, Chris Wilson has step down as CEO and now former Vice President Steve Davis has taken his spot.

Jerry Lawler: And replacing Davis' place as VP is Chris Garrett.

[Now "Rollin' (Urban Assault Vehicle)" plays over the loud speaker.]

Jim Ross: Who could be coming out here? I've never haerd that song for a NWO Wrestler.

[The person who walks out is none other than the new CEO of the NWO, Steve Davis. He gets a mixed reaction from the fans, but he is getting more cheers than boos at this time. He's wearing an expensive black suit. He has a microphone in his right hand. He walks to the ring and he walks up the ring steps and into the ring. The music fades. He looks around the arena, and then begins to talk.]

CEO Steve Davis: The NWO has had it's hard times. The NWO has had it's great times. Right now it's not the best time the NWO has ever gone through, but it's been worse in the past. I remember those times, even though I wish I could forget. Now I have a plan for the NWO, and that is to bring it back to number one, which is right where it should be.

[There's a loud upraod of cheers when that is said.]

CEO Steve Davis: I won't do something that's really dramatic. All of the titles are not going to be vacanted. The NWO isn't going to go under a huge facelift, because I know that each and everyone of you like it just like it os now. All that I am going to do is take what I got and make it better. The first thing I am going to do is retire two of the titles that were just brought back a month or so ago, and those are the European and Canadian titles. And yes, I know that the Canadian title is on the line today. The person who wins that match will have the honor of being the last person to hold the title.

CEO Steve Davis: I am not going to take up any more of airtime because I know that you want to see the great NWO action, and that's exactly what you are going to see tonight.

["Rollin" plays again. CEO Steve Davis tosses the mic out of the ring and then he leaves the ring. he walks right to the backstage area with pretty much just cheers from the crowd.]

Ruthless vs Blade
Canadian Championship

Lillian Garica: This match is scheduled for one fall, and it is for the Net World Order Canadian championship! Introducing first...Blade!

(Blade walks down to the ring with a confident look on his face as his music blasts over the PA system. The fans don't know if they should boo or cheer him so he recieves an expected mixed reaction from them. Blade slides into the ring under the ropes and awaits the arrival of the champion, Ruthless.)

Lilian Garcia:And his opponent, he is the reigning Canadian champion...Ruthless!

(Ruthless' music begins to rumble over the PA system. Ruthless appears at the peak of the entrance ramp with his Canadian title held high in the air. Ruthless is proclaiming that he will "simply destroy Blade" tonight. The fans give a standing ovation to their champion as Ruthless makes a jog towards the ring. The match is just on the verge of beginning when the lights grow dim and finally the arena is pitch black. Red and gold spot lights start to flash all over the arena and a strange fog sweeps over the entrance ramp. Odyessy 2000, Ric Flair's theme, begins to blare over the PA system. Every fan in attendance rises up and begin to cheer, shout, chant, and clap. Everyone is excited and that excitement erupts as Ric Flair makes his appearance on the top of the entrance ramp. Flair is dressed in a spectacular, flashy robe. As he walks down the entrance ramp, he twirls around and as he does so, white pyro rockets up into the air. Flair walks down to the ring and climbs in. After a few moments of debating with the ref, Flair calls for a mic. Ric Flair then speaks for the first time in many months.)

Ric Flair:It feels great to back! I'm pleased to see that things are getting along pretty damn well in the NWO. Now don't let me give you all the wrong idea, I am not a permanent member here by no means. But I will be the temporary ref for this match and this match only since the Canadian title means so damn much to me. So get ready for a night of stylin' and profilin' courtesy of the Nature Boy himself!

(The original ref shrugs and leaves the ring to let Ric Flair take over his job. The bell then rings and the match gets under way.)

Jim Ross: This is such a privilege! Not only do we get to see the Canadian championship on the line, but we get to see Ric Flair as the ref for the match as well! What a night we are having here, King!

Jerry Lawler: Jim, how could you be excited over a dinosaur like Ric Flair suddenly showing up? This man has got to be over one hundred years old! I just hope that he doesn't take off that shirt of his or I'll have nightmares for sure.

(Ruthless runs at Blade and knocks him down with a stunning clothesline! Blade gets back up and is nearly struck by a side kick but immediately ducks out of harm's way. Ruthless comes charging after Blade again, this time he connects with a devastating spear. Blade crumples down to the mat like a sack of potatoes ,but Ruthless isn't done yet. Ruthless picks Blade up and gives him a powerful gorilla press slam! Blade tries to escape to the outside of the ring for a quick breather but is stopped by a bulldog from Ruthless. Now with Blade on the ground, Ruthless begins to pound him with relentless lefts and rights. When Ruthless is sure that Blade won't move any time soon, he climbs to the top ropes and hits a flying leg drop! Ruthless lands hard right on Blade's chest area. Blade twitches in pain from this top rope manuever. Ruthless rises back up to his feet and pulls Blade back up by the hair to face him. Ruthless smiles and delivers a fast power slam followed by a series of elbow drops. Blade bounces up into the air from the sheer momentum that Ruthless picks up as he comes crashing hard into Blade's body.

Ruthless then tries something different. He puts Blae in the Texas Clover Leaf submission. Flair drops to the ground to ask Blade if he gives up. Blade continues to shake his head as his face turns beet red. Blade then struggles to free himself and eventually does so as he gains a rope break in weakly pulling on the ropes. Ruthless reluctantly lets go of the hold and begins to stomp Blade all over. Blade starts to moan in great pain. Ruthless smiles once again and picks Blade up. Ruthless then executes a beautiful text book back body drop on Blade and goes for the pin. Flair counts.........1..........2...No way! Blade shows what he is really made of by kicking out.)

Jerry Lawler: How did he kick out of that one? Most normal men would have been crying out to their mothers by now! Blade is insane!

Jim Ross: Blade just has a lot of guts. It looks like this match is not over yet. Blade has just gotten back up and surprised Ruthless with a super kick to the old choppers!

(Ruthless collapses onto the mat from the incredible force of the super kick. Blade wipes the sweat off of his brow and begins to pummel Ruthless with knee drops. Ruthless desperately tries to shield himself but fails. Blade has him hurting all over from this recent burst of strength. Blade adds to his attack with a camel clutch. Blade eventually lets go of Ruthless' chin and tries something new. Blade picks Ruthless up and powerbombs him! Ruthless stumbles back up to his feet and recieves a vertical suplex! The whole ring shakes from the impact. All of the fans in attendance send out huge pops. Ric Flair just grins and wipes a small unnoticable tear from his left eye. Blade continues the match with a swift hurricaranna. Ruthless struggles to get up. When Ruthless finally musters up enough strength to get to his feet, Blade lays him out with a piledriver. Blade covers........1.........2....Not quite yet! Ruthless gets a shoulder up and in only a few moments' time, Blade is back with the beating. Blade gives Ruthless a snapmare takedown. Blade sets Ruthless back up again and executes a double arm DDT. Ruthless refuses to stay down and ends up being the recipient of a tiger suplex. Blade crouches low to the ground and slaps on a rear chin lock to Ruthless. Ruthless manages to elbow his way out of the grasp of Blade. Ruthless then bounces off the ropes and clotheslines Blade over the top of the rope and onto the cold hard unforgiving concrete below. The only problem is that Ruthless had too much momentum behind the clothesline and went over the top with Blade.)

Jerry Lawler: Can you say OUCH!

(Ruthless is the first to his feet. Ruthless reacts with little hesitation in swinging Blade into the ring steps. Ruthless then sets Blade back up to his feet and swings him into the guard rail. Ruthless doesn't quit there. He uses the guard rail one last time. Only this time he slams Blade's already battered head into it. Blade's forehead is now cut and a few trickles of blood are dripping out from it. Ruthless smiles at the sight of Blade bleeding. Ruthless then wastes no time in rolling himself and Blade back into the ring. Ruthless gives Blade a fishermen suplex and covers........1.........2.....Almost! Blade just barely gets his shoulder up. Ruthless, now frustrated, begins to pace around the ring. He isn't sure of what to do next. Blade takes advantage of this. As Ruthless turns to face Blade, Blade swings him into one of the turnbuckles. Then Blade jumps onto the top of that turnbuckle and brings Ruthless up with him. Blade then DDTs Ruthless down to the mat! The fans all count along with Flair.........1..........2...........3! Ric Flair raises Blade's hand to proclaim the victor and new Canadian champion.)

Lilian Garcia:Your winner and the new and final Canadian champion......Blade!!!

Jim Ross: What a great match! There folks, is a great display of athletesism. Flair did a great job as ref. I hope that he comes back someday.

Jerry Lawler: What are you talking about, Jim? No one wants to see Flair come back! Screw that old piece of shit to hell!

Interview: Triple X

(The camera cuts to the streets of Queens-New York, home to the former EBW Xtreme Arena, where Triple X got his career started, as a member of The 2 Hor$meN, Tag-Team partner of one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, the Unknown Felon. It is a rather calm day. There is a slight breeze amidst the warm summer day. Families walk about the brick paved sidewalks giving notice to the local merchandise. Cops mounted on horses patrol the streets as the clatter of the hooves on the asphalt can be heard. A picture perfect scene…)

(As the camera continues its glance around the wonderful city, it begins to focus on the EBW Arena. The camera spans from the roof top to the side walk. The camera operator is nearly startled however as something, or rather someone, stands before him with their back turned to the lens. One need only look at the mysterious character, adorned in a full length black trench coat to be aware that it is Triple X.)

(As the camera focuses on the reigning Tag-Team champion of the NWO, the breeze blows his coat about. XXX, however, seems untouched. He has yet to give notice to the camera as he seems to be marveling at the sidewalk. Or at least that is how it appears…)

(Still being taped, XXX crouches down into a squatting position. XXX reaches down to the sidewalk picking up an object. His massive body blocks all view though, so the object remains a mystery. But soon enough are questions are answered as XXX turns around before the camera, revealing a lighter.)

[Triple X] - "You know the name by now Chris Jericho. And after tonight, you'll never forget it."

[Triple X] - "Many times in my life, I have faced opponents, in which their fear is ever so visible. Many times they have tried to run, and many times I have chased them down. But never in my life have I seen an opponent excuse himself from a match, for personal obligations. But just because it has not been seen, does not mean I will not chase that opponent down as well…"

[Triple X] - "As a wrestler in a prestigious federation, you always have aspirations of dreams of one day becoming a world title holder. Even for those who have achieved those dreams, the thought of once again retaining that title infatuates them. But as much as people like to dream, they don’t realize that some things are just too far out of their reach. That no matter how much they try to claw their way up, they will never reach the top. It seems my opponent for this Thursday's installment of Overdrive has reached that point in his career. And now it is time to bring him back down to where he belongs. Below myself!"

[Triple X] - "Jericho, you seem intent on becoming a real champion.
(XXX gives a menacing chuckle) That thought can nearly propel a man towards insanity, a level to which many, including myself, thing you have breached. Of course a man would have to be insane, to consider himself worthy of a title shot such as yourself, especially when they are a marked man…"

[Triple X] - "That is correct Chris Jericho. You are a marked man. That target’s size surpasses any dart board or helicopter pad for that matter, because to me , that target is larger than life. Never in my life, have I felt the need for revenge such as I do now. Not even towards my foes of the past, not even somone like Torment
(the former EBW Champion, who Triple X had a reasonably large feud with while in EBW)."

[Triple X] - "No competitor in this game has left his mark on me like... and noone will..."

(The camera gives notice to the scar under XXX's left eye. Still fresh, still ingrained in the mind of a champion.)

[Triple X] - "I find it quite humorous, as to how you think you can relieve yourself from your given duties at Overdrive. Boy what it would be like to spend a day inside of that head of yours. But the truth of the matter is, that it is not humorous at all. Because despite your wishful thinking, we still have a date with destiny in a short span of time. What you did to me cannot be forgotten, and it will not. Paybacks are h*ll, and you will learn that the hard way."

[Triple X] - "No one can force you to show up come Thursday Y2J. After all, you are a grown man. We can all see that plainly with your recent actions. But on that same spectrum, I am a grown man myself. And no one can stop me from coming after you, whether it be in your chance at a title, or any random room in the building. But G-d be my witness, I will leave my mark…"

[Triple X] - "You may think you are better than me, or think otherwise, but I will prove you wrong. You think you are above a certain title, that you are better than me. But you still have yet to chalk up a victory over the messenger of evil. Why? Because
(to steal a line from Triple H) I am that d*mn good. To say that you may get a title shot is too much, because I will make it my duty to make sure you never get a sniff of the stinch of fame again. I never forget, and for that very same reason you stand destined. Destined with a date with evil. Destined with your time to fall."

[Triple X] - "At Overdrive, you can bring everything you have. But as you have stated, I will continue to get back up. That is if you are able to make me fall. But a man as enrages as myself will be stretched to stumble. Looking to that, you say you will kill me next time I get up. Well Y2J, I have gotten up before, against others will and threats. What is to stop me from doing it again? But this time, your petty threats of murder mean nothing. Although you try to pass your self as cold and un relenting, you still show weakness. Because unlike you, I will not hesitate to unleash that fatal blow. I do not play puppet to a higher power such as G-d or what not. I have no conscience. And that will be unveiled to the world, when I attempt to put an end to more than your career, but your life. This is more than a match, this a time for vengence. This is time for make use of that eye for eye biblical quote. This is time to put an end to all that is THE Y-2-J PROBLEM! Thursday, h*ll’s gates will reopen, and for one time only. You are cordially invited Jericho, and I will make sure that you attend. Welcome to my world Y2J, welcome to H*ll!"

(XXX positions the lighter in his hand as he flickers the flame by rolling the ignition key. The flame appears, and disappears moment after moment. Until finally, it dies.)
